Our PTA Programs

The PTA works with the school librarian to host guest speakers that inspire the students.

The Bike Rodeo is a fun bicycle safety and agility competition.Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boy and girl winners of each grade level. The boy and girl winner from each grade level will receive an official invitation to the City-wide Bike Rodeo in the Spring. All students are encouraged to participate even if they are still using training wheels.

Box Tops for Education is a program sponsored by General Mills. Box Top coupons are found on various General Mills products. Parents and community members are asked to clip these coupons and return them to the school. Every coupon earns the school $0.10. It all adds up!

Our faculty appreciation committee spoils our staff with several lunches and Sonic drink days throughout the year. They also work to honor the men and women who lend their passion and skills to educating our children during National Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

Every year, PTA hosts Field Day where Encino Park students participate in outdoor sports and agility activities that emphasize teamwork and exercise.

In May, Encino Park 5th graders celebrate their graduation from elementary school to middle school with a party at the pool.

Students who volunteer outside of school - patrols, Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts, church or elsewhere, can log their hours to earn volunteer service awards to be awarded in the Spring.

Red Ribbon Week is in October. This is a week dedicated to helping students learn how to make healthy choices that can last a lifetime.

Calling creative kids! Submit an original work of art in the PTA Reflections art contest in October. Categories include: visual arts, literature, musical composition, photography, dance choreography, and film production.

Each year the PTA awards two $250 scholarships to high school students who attended fifth grade at Encino Park Elementary.

Each year the PTA plans two-grade level parties – a Holiday party in December and a Valentine’s Day party in February. Both gyms are decorated to the party theme, and each grade goes to the gym during their “specials" period to enjoy crafts, games, prizes and tasty treats with their friends. The kids, parents and teachers all look forward to these awesome parties.

The NEISD Used Book Sale benefits local NEISD PTAs, Council and the NEISD community by offering books at a very low price to promote literacy. Some of the proceeds are distributed to the participating schools based on the number of books donated. Book collection typically occurs in March with the sale at Blossom Athletic Center in early April.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a program for men to provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
