VOLUNTEER SECTION

Room Co-Representative: Works with another parent to coordinate the Winter and Spring Classroom Parties; organizes one classroom treat during the year; brings water on Field Day and assists teacher in securing additional volunteers as needed.

Classroom Celebration Assistant: Assist the Room Reps with games, crafts, and handing out food in the classroom during the Winter and Spring parties.

Classroom Celebration Supplies Assistant: Provide items needed for classroom celebrations such as food items, drinks, paper goods or craft supplies used during the two classroom parties.

Classroom Garden Assistant: Helps the teacher and students with their classroom garden approximately once per week (during the growing season).

ADEPT: (Alcohol/Drug Education Prevention Training) Projects like Red Ribbon Week in October.
Arts in Education: Annual Reflections contest and reception. Young Masters Art Show; and other Visual Arts; Music and Theatrical activities throughout the year. Please volunteer if you have a creative talent or always wanted to be a part of something creative! There are many ways we can use your talents!
Bike Rodeo: 1 day only – September 24th
Boxtops for Education: Help count boxtops.
Breakfast Events: Help check people in as they enter the buiding.
Class Shirts: Help process and distribute orders.
Environmental Committee: Projects based on increasing environmental awareness at our school.
Faculty Appreciation: Provide homemade or store bought food items for quarterly faculty lunches.
Fifth Grade Party: Help with end of year 5th grade party. Need chaperones; decorations; food; donations; and more. Planning begins in February.
Grandparents Day: Help check people in as they enter the building.
Grounds and Gardening: Monthly projects (flexible hours) – Chairperson will schedule.
Grounds and Gardening: Campus Beautification Day
H.E.A.L.S.: (Health Ed. Awareness Learning and Services) Help on Field Day which is usually held around the end of May. You will be contacted by the Coordinator in the Spring.
Holiday Meals: Help check people in as they enter the building.
Hospitality: Help set up and/or bring refreshments for Kinder parents on the first day of school (Koffee & Kleenex). Help set up or bring refreshments or man sign-in desk on Career Day. Chair person will contact you.
Library: assist in library 1 hr/wkly or biwkly sorting/shelving books. Chairperson makes schedule based on your availability.
Library: Book Fair: Annual event where Chairperson schedules shifts to work the Fair based on your availability.
Mentoring/Tutoring: ½ hour weekly. NO experience necessary. School Counselor coordinates.
Newsletter Editors: Once/month (from home) – compile and edit articles that have been provided to you. Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher is helpful. Training is provided. Chairperson schedules.
Newsletter Copier: Make copies of newsletter and distribute to teacher boxes. Requires about 1 hour on a Friday morning every 4 to 5 weeks. Chairperson makes schedule.
Nurses Clinic: Assist with screenings when we have them. (Does not require medical background)
Picture Day: Assist staff by keeping children organized and ready for the photographers.
Read Kids Read: Volunteers needed for each grade level to help administer a variety of reading programs sponsored by NEISD and/or community to encourage our children to read more outside of class. There are a variety of ways to volunteer and help throughout the school year.

Reading Room: New project started last year. Provides teachers with easily accessible reading materials organized by level. Volunteers are needed 2-3 times per year to organize and add new reading materials to shelves. Inventory existing materials. Help is also needed on an ongoing basis (1-2 times per month) to help maintain the organization of the room. Chairperson will create schedule based on available hours of volunteers.
Special Projects: Assist with Agel Tree project and Book Drive for our Sister School.
Spirit Sales: Assist committee with spirit sales during school and PTA events
Spirit Mascot Assistant: Help the mascot with activities for the kids. Photographing mascot and students.
Stage Decoration: Help decorate the Cafeteria stage in preparation for your child’s class PTA performance.
Grade(s) and Teacher(s) for Stage Decoration
Student Directory: Assist chairperson during Fall Semester as needed.
WATCH D.O.G.S.: Dads of Great Students - Volunteer one day per year to help keep our school safe and provide a positive male role model.
