Bike Rodeo

Permission Form      |       Safety Inspection Form

Please join Officer Keogh from the San Antonio Police Department and Encino Park Elementary at the annual PTA sponsored Bike Rodeo for Kinder through 5th grades held in October of each year.

The Bike Rodeo is the annual bicycle safety clinic offered each Fall at Encino Park Elementary.  During the event, we feature bike safety inspections, a safety talk about the rules of the road, a ride on a miniature course set up in the parking lot where young cyclists are shown where and how to apply the rules.

Judging begins at 8:00am and the rodeo will end at approximately noon. The PTA will set up a courtesy drink station for all EP students.

Participation is voluntary; however, a permission form is required for all participants. All participants will receive a ribbon. First, Second, and Third Place Medals will be awarded to the winners of both boys and girls in each grade level. First place winners will be eligible to compete in the city-wide bike rodeo held in the Spring. Training wheels are acceptable for our rodeo, but only two-wheeled contestants are eligible to move on to the city-wide championship.

Riders are required to wear a helmet. Bicycles and helmets should be labeled before dropping them off at school. If possible, bikes should be picked up by noon. Encino Park Elementary has limited bike storage space and cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage to any bike.

Volunteers Needed:

  • The Bike Rodeo requires many volunteers. Please consider making time in your day to volunteer for this event. If you would like to help at the Bike Rodeo, please contact Stacey Hammar.
